Storefront closing

The Argosy is closing its 3rd Avenue storefront.

Since 2013, the Argosy has been northwest BC’s go-to source for everything eclectic, vintage, and antique. Treasures of all shapes and sizes, personally curated by Richard and I, have found their way into homes all along Highway 16 and, in fact, all around the world.

In order to bring you these treasures, we attended up to 40 auctions a year and drove innumerable kilometres, loading our van and trailer to the max with vintage furniture, housewares, and clothing, which we repaired, upcycled, and staged in a far-flung corner of Prince Rupert’s downtown. Our hard work won us both local and provincial recognition: Best Marketer in the 2017 Small Business BC Awards, and from the Prince Rupert & District Chamber of Commerce, Business of the Year in 2018, and Retail Excellence in 2019.

Over the course of the last decade, the Argosy has been privileged to support the fundraising efforts of many Prince Rupert organizations. We donated thousands of dollars in door prizes and gift certificates to all manner of community events and causes, from the annual Rotary auction to sponsoring the Lester Centre, and everything in between.

On October 7, 2023, the Argosy will close its physical 3rd Avenue West location. We will continue to sell select, curated treasures online, so we hope you will follow us to find what the future will bring.

Thank you to each and every customer who bought items from us over the last ten years, from the most substantial sideboard to the tiniest tchotchke imaginable. Thank you also to our long-time employees, the always-sassy Samantha Weir and the indomitable Hannah Lindenblatt, whom we could not have done without. Thank you also to Latral Bowley for his cheerful customer service through the last couple of years.

We are excited about our next adventure!
All the best,
Frances & Richard
