These antique cast iron laundry tools would have been heated up on the stove in order to get the ironing done. This sad iron was made by the Taylor-Forbes Company in Guelph, Ontario, Canada in the early 1900s. It would have had a wooden handle with a locking mechanism for picking up the hot iron. This one doesn't have its handle, but it's heavy enough (about 5lbs) to make a great doorstop.
Measures 7" x 3.5" x 2".
